Things that are terrific:
Kidzbiz and Creche
General feel - people who want to be there
Prayer leaders
Sermons - clear and understandable
Format - predicatability helpful (?)
Morning tea - great to mix
Needing Fixing
Creche - parents staying with kids
Format - parents and childminders and kidzbiz people miss announcments
Start time - everyone not there - fliter in during songs
Rehearsal music makes it hard to know when service actually starts
Lots of people at entrance - distracting, hard to get in
Underlying Problem
Perhaps a lack of big-picture view of all working together with a purpose

Refreshing 1030am at MPC
Some of us have been thinking that the 1030am service at Mitchelton Presbyterian Church has been in need of refreshing. So we held a'focus group' meeting this morning to brainstorm some ideas. Thanks to Chris and Christine, Jeremy and Lucy, Chris and Jo, Ben and Sally, Matt and Jill, Derek and Jacqui, Greg and Louise, Kathy and Louise for making it such a useful time. Highlights and findings of the meeting will be in seperate posts. Please add comments if I've missed anything.

Although everyone in our group thought the music itself was excellent the comment was made that some of the songs are pretty unmemorable and you don't go home with them stuck in your head.

Re: the music; I find the band and singers great, and the songs have good content, but are sometimes a bit long to remember afterwards.
About the format; I agree it is disappointing when I miss the announcements while escorting the kids out to kidz biz.....could that time be used for something else, ?collection, ?saying Hi to someone around you.
